Jobless But Still Kickin'

Thu Oct 8, 2009, 3:12 AM
Like the title says, i'm still unemployed. I guess i'm the latest of the bunch to get a steady job, sigh.

Now for the 'still kickin' part : I've been working on 2 projects (one personal, the other not so), which is the Knight and the B2 Super Battle Droid. The SBD's complete, and i'm now fervently working on the Knight. As usual, WIPs are available in my blog.

I really enjoyed checking out your gallery. the eye for detail is great as well as your overall style. I think I'll go cry now, just kidding, looking at all the wonderful artwork on here just makes me want to work the harder when I have time. Again beautiful work.

again your welcome. I find it easy to appreciate other peoples artwork, the styles in which they express themselves is truly amazing. I have an old 3d program which i play with. I also photograph as a hobby strictly. mostly though i work with pen and pencil sketching out my ideas until i find something which appeals to me. I try to commit them to the 3d program but I have trouble translating my ideas from 2d to the 3d. oh well, I keep trying. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

IMO traditional media is the most solid & effective way of strengthening the basics, and don't worry too much about 3D, it's very technical and just takes some time to learn. Keep it up!

Thanks for the advice. I am working on a drawing of a tank which is one of many elements to a growing sci-fi story I'm working on. If I get my scanner up and running, I'll put my hand drawing and my graph paper drawing up. I've already put it in the 3d program and with some patience, it is looking the way that I want. Now the only problem I'm having is TOO many points and polys. So when I load it to work on it, it moves in jerks as I rotate it in the render window. I've put everything into the one file, instead of breaking it up into elements i.e. turret, body, main gun etc. Anyway . . . thanks again
